Snow Storm Could Bring a Couple of Inches

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- Just when you thought it was safe to put your winter clothes away, a storm Wednesday could drop a few inches of snow on parts of Westchester County.

The snow should start falling Wednesday morning but could change to freezing rain then rain by nightfall, according to the National Weather Service.

"Snow before 2 p.m., then rain, snow, and sleet," the Weather Service says. "Chance of precipitation is 100 percent. New snow and sleet accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible."

The combination of snow, rain and a trace of ice in some areas could make travel hazardous, according to the Weather Service.

The storm will not bring bitter cold with it, as temperatures are expected to remain in the mid-30s during the day Wednesday and drop to around freezing at night before jumping into the 40s on Thursday, according to the Weather Service.
